Bruce Quirk to Lead USGS Land Remote Sensing Program
Dr. Bruce Quirk has accepted the position as the Associate Program Coordinator for the U.S. Geological Survey's Land Remote Sensing (LRS) Program. Bruce comes to this position with more than thirty years of experience managing remote sensing investigations and applications for natural resources in both the United States and abroad. Dr. Quirk assumes this responsibility at a critical time for the civilian land remote sensing initiatives. The U.S. Geological Survey is leading discussions and planning for the next generations of civilian remote sensing satellites, through the Landsat Data Continuity Mission and the Future Land Imaging proposals. The Survey's Land Remote Sensing Program, under Dr. Quirk's leadership, is the focal point for that leadership within the Department of the Interior.
